As part of the ongoing commitment to enhance the historical, cultural and spiritual focus of PANAFEST, the Secretariat has included in the 2005 schedule a Pre-PANAFEST Pilgrimmage called

"On The Slave Route To PANAFEST,"

24th July (Sunday): CARNIVAL DAY
24th July: Sunday Colorful procession of floats, Brass Band, Masqueraders, Asafo companies and youth groups through the principal streets of Cape Coast to Adisadel College Park the venue of the PANAFEST Village and Expo / Trade Fair.
24th July: Sunday OPENING OF PANAFEST EXPO / TRADE FAIR with international exhibitors, entrepreneurs, corporate bodies and artisans.

25th July (Monday): OPEN FREE DAY
25th July: Monday Scheduled Tours to Historical Sites in the Central Region.

26th July (Tuesday): THE RETURN JOURNEY/ AKWAABA CEREMONY
26th July: Tuesday Historic boat (canoe) ride from Cape Coast Castle/Dungeon "Door of Return" to Elmina Castle to be received by Traditional Leaders and Elders for a welcome home reception at the forecourt of the Elmina Castle.
26th July: Tuesday Continue scheduled Tours to Historical Sites in the Central Region.

27th July (Wednesday): OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY OF PANAFEST 2005
27th July: Wednesday 10:00 am Colorful Ceremony of International Dignitaries and invited guests and participating artist in the courtyard of Cape Castle / Dungeons.
27th July: Wednesday Evening Drama Performances at the Centre for National Cultures (CNC)
27th July: Wednesday Musical and other performances at Adisadel Park (PANAFEST VILLAGE).

28th July (Thursday): COLLOQUIUM: WOMEN?S DAY HIV / AIDS
28th July: Thursday International forum on Women?s Issues and HIV / AIDS at CNC

30th July (Saturday): GRAND DURBAR OF CHIEFS, QUEENMOTHERS AND ELDERS
30th July: Saturday 10:00 am ~ Royal Pageant and Display of Traditional Rulers in a Grand Procession through the principal streets of Cape Coast to Victoria Park.
30th July: Saturday 12:00 Noon ~ Official Panafest Programme at Victoria Park with assembled Royals, Dignitaries, Artists and Guests.

31st July (Sunday): RITES OF PASSAGE/NAMING CEREMONY in EGUAFO
31st July: Sunday 9:00 am ~ This is a special packaged program for those brothers and sisters from the Diaspora who wish to have their youth undergo a special ceremony as a rites of passage, naming ceremony and or Traditional marriage vows. This will be performed by a pre-arrangement request.
31st July: Sunday 8:00 pm to Midnight: REVERENTIAL EVENING ~ This solemn ceremony on the eve of Emancipation Day begins with a candle light procession through the principal streets of Cape Coast to Cape Castle courtyard which will feature an evening of commemorating our ancestors and end with a midnight Proclamation of Emancipation Day.

1st August (Monday) EMANCIPATION DAY ~ AT ASSIN MANSO
1st August: Monday 9:00 am ~ The 8th Annual Celebration and climax of this year's programme will be held with a Durbar at Assin Manso marking the official observance of Emancipation Day 2005
1st August: Monday CLOSING CEREMONIES AND AWARDS NIGHT - CAPE COAST: ~ The Official Closing Ceremony of PANAFEST 2005 will be a Dinner Dance and Awards Night held at the Center for National Culture.

NOTE: The essential parts of the program have been contained within the period of the 26th beginning with the Akwaaba program in Elmina to the 1st August ending with the Emancipation Day Close-out/ Awards Night which in total is a 7 day program. However Incredible Booking is interested in a longer experience, the Cape Coast and Elmina townships will have activities on going from the 24th July to the 2nd August so that local people and others can enjoy Carnival Day, additional workshops and forums on AIDS/HIV, Trade Fair as well as other sites in the Central Region.
